We take the safety of our customers, staff and tutors very seriously and our current policies are noted below:
Shop/Gallery Area
Whilst in our shop, you are required by law in Scotland to wear a mask or suitable face covering, unless exempt. If you are exempt, please consider wearing the recognised lanyard to signal this exemption to our staff and other customers. If you come to our shop and do not have a mask of your own, we do sell high quality hand made masks and face coverings and we also have a small supply of disposable masks which we are happy to provide to you in exchange for a suggested £1 donation to our chosen local charitable organisation “Strathearn Cares”.
We have tape markings on the shop floor to help you gauge an appropriate safe distance between you and other customers.
We are currently limiting visitors in the gallery to a maximum of four people to allow for distancing and we ask that you kindly wait outside if the shop appears to have reached this maximum number of visitors.
Classroom/Workshop Area
If you have booked to attend a class or workshop at MoKa, we have a number of requirements in order to keep both our students and our tutors safe.
On arrival for a class or workshop, your temperature will be checked with an infrared thermometer directed at your forehead. If you record an elevated temperature, you may be asked to leave the class. We will reallocate any remaining class or workshop sessions to a later date.
We would request that you show proof of double-vaccination status on your first attendance. You can obtain this from the NHS Inform Website. If you are not vaccinated, we require sight of a negative lateral flow test taken in the 48 hours prior to attendance. Please contact us if you need assistance in obtaining your vaccination status, or for advice on what proof of test results we will need to see.
Our staff and tutors will endeavour to take a lateral flow test on the day of (or in the 48 hours prior to) each class or workshop. If any tests are positive, the class may be cancelled at short notice and will be rescheduled for an alternative date. No refunds are available if this is the case.
We would kindly request that you consider completing a lateral flow test on the day of any classes or workshops, although we will not stop you from attending if you are unable to do so.
Whilst moving around the classroom area, we would prefer you to continue wearing your mask or face covering. Once seated at the work tables you may remove your mask.
If you have experienced ANY symptoms of Covid-19 in the 48 hours prior to any class or workshop plese do not attend. Contact MoKa to advise us of your status and we will reallocate any remaining class dates or workshop sessions to a later date. No refunds will be given.
Per Scottish Government current advice, symptoms to be aware of include a high temperature, a new, continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.
If you have been ‘pinged’ by track and trace software and told to self isolate, please do so. Do not attend your class or workshop but contact us and we will reallocate your remaining class dates or workshop sessions to a later date. No refunds will be given.
If you are in any doubt as to your current Covid-19 status please DO NOT come to the Gallery or attend any classes or workshops. Please bear in mind that we are a small business and any closure due to exposure to Covid-19 or a ‘ping’ event by track and trace will result in significant financial loss for us. Thank you for your cooperation.
