MoKa Pottery Beginners Handbuilding Class – 8 Week Block

Thursdays from 6th April 2023 Morning (10.15am-1pm) or Evening (6.15pm-9pm) (Session timings include refreshments and cleanup). Expected end date (8 sessions) is 25th May 2023.

Over the eight weeks students will make several items utilising each of the main hand-building techniques of pinch pots, coil building and slab building.  They will learn how to handle clay at all stages, learn about various methods of surface decoration and texture techniques as well as glazing. Students will also be tasked with designing and creating their own project piece using one or a combination of these techniques with support and tuition throughout.  Students will be invited back for an evening a few weeks after the end of the course to collect final glaze fired pieces and ‘graduation’.
